WELGRO is a non for profit, local non-governmental organization that was formed in 2000 and registered in 2002.
Our mission is to solve community based problems through practical and participatory methods that foster economic development.
Our main objective is to ensure that the marginalized change the way they see themselves, others and the opportunities before them through our initiatives that aim at creating independence, sustainability and reliance.
We believe in creating self sustainability as the best way of giving a hand to the less fortunate in the community.

Welgro is a non profit, tax exempt organization with status equivalent of US 501(c) (3) in Kenya as provided by the societies' act.This is reflected in our organization constitution.

The aims and benefits of the projects

Our projects are aimed at enlightening, economically empowering and changing the way people look at themselves, others and the opportunities before them in the marginalized community to help them harness the available resources maximally. The projects are designed to address the poverty, idleness, unemployment, crime, HIV Vulnerability, Alcoholism & Drug abuse among the rural(the poor) fraternity. These project are timely as they are helping the rural communities to access, manage and benefit from Kenya National Funds and other financial institutions that have been otherwise benefiting only the urban Communities.

The outcomes of the projects include

  1. A getting skilled and well informed rural community that is willing to make use of available resources for their own economic development.
  2. Numerous and diversified community income generating projects
  3. Creation of community self employment in the rural community.
  4. Alleviation of poverty, increased food security and general rural economic growth.
  5. Community soliderity especially for orphans livelivelihood
